He sleeps for a long time but Sameth does wake up and simply lays there, everything hurts so he decides to not move.

Sabriel woke up too and is around and about but if anyone wishes to talk to Sam, he's not going anywhere for a while.

That really not reassuring,

"I think I can find foes without any help. They do come looking for my family."

"In that case," Teja says, "Mogget may have thought that Blodwen Rowlands was just right for you to show what mettle you are made of?"

"I don't think I proved much since she healed from everything I threw at her."

[ostro_goth]

"But you have the courage to back up your skill," Teja says, "even if your skills still need some work."

"I guess."

[ostro_goth]

"It makes sense," Teja says. "Believe me, Sameth! We mean you well, and yes, I do wish to have you around in the forge, and teach you to describe things, and whatever else you may learn from me."

"I'd like that. What have you been working on lately?"

[ostro_goth]

"I have finished the fence or cage, for the base-ball field," Teja says.

[makesthings]

"Do you know when the game's going to be?"

[ostro_goth]

"In about ten days, I think," Teja says. "You should be recovered until then, enough to watch, and -- one would hope -- cheer me on."

[makesthings]

"Of course. I mean I'm already doing better."

Which really should give Teja an idea of how badly he was hurt.

"You are," Teja says. "Y -- Mogget said you were poisoned, and that, one would assume, has already been healed."

[makesthings]

"Yes, it was difficult but the poison's out of my body."

His smile just fades since he knows how much that wore his mother out.

"The medicine of the future is wondrous," Teja says, as he cannot imagine what else would have healed him.

[makesthings]

"My mother healed me."

[ostro_goth]

"Ahhh," Teja says. "So it was the sort of poison that needed magic to free you from?"

[makesthings]

"I'm not sure, we've just always used the Charter for healing."

[ostro_goth]

"With magic like that," Teja says, "who needs technology?"

[makesthings]

"Sometimes it can be useful to have other things since the Charter can't do everything just a lot of things and you have to know what to do."

[ostro_goth]

"How to squeeze into a little bag, and turn into a cat, for one thing," Teja says, as that is something he has done.

[makesthings]

"Yes, Charter skins are very complex and hard to do."

[ostro_goth]

"Mogget made me three," Teja says, quietly. "And one of them, I wore not myself, but gave to" -- my Charlie -- "one very dear to me, so we could speak to the forge cats together. For that, Mogget had given me two at once. Even though even for him, they are hours of work. He is truly a good friend!"

[makesthings]

"To you, yes."

"You may yet earn his trust," Teja says. "Mogget here is no longer who he was in your world. He has friends here -- good and true friends, many more than me, for whom he has done amazing things."

"I know that, its just for now he thinks me nothing more than an idiot. I'm not sure he's really that wrong."
